The drug consists of a combination of amoxicillin and clavulanate.Amoxicillin itself is active against different forms of bacteria and clavulanate helps amoxicillin fight resistant strains of bacteria.

As a result the combination is better than amoxicillin as a stand alone. It can be used for pulmonary infections,dental infectuions,urinary tract infections amongst many other types of infections.
